This will be the 6th year I’ve written this First Look article and every year I try to refine the process for DFS Pass subscribers. This year, instead of writing a ton of different contextual statistics for a few players, I wanted to give you direct access to the stats I pay attention to each week when making lineup decisions.
We released a YouTube series (Just the Tips) where we focused on the Metrics That Matter for RBs and WRs. I will be drawing on some of the research there to zero-in on the statistics that matter every week for DFS.
Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.
Check back later in the week when Matthew Betz and I share our official DraftKings and FanDuel picks for cash and GPPs exclusively in the DFS Pass.
Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.
Overview
For newcomers, the main slate for DFS includes the Sunday early (1:00 EST) and afternoon games (4:25 EST). At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:
- Only one game currently sits above 48 in total- DET @ GB
- However, we have a healthy mix in the early window of five games in the 45-47.5 window. As I’ve shared previously on the podcast,
- Team implied totals is what matter just as much as overall game totals. With eight teams (DET, GB, DEN, ARI, WAS, JAX, CIN, TB) with a team implied total of 24+, there are lots of different directions to go in terms of stacking.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please allow our dev team time to have everything ready for Week 1 lineups AFTER Labor Day.
