NFL DFS First Look at DraftKings Salaries for Super Wild Card Weekend 2025

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (10) talks to head coach Jim Harbaugh during the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field.

Playoffs?! Yep, we’re talking playoffs as Super Wild Card Weekend (remember it was rebranded that last year?) is upon us.

Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.

Check back later in the week when Matthew Betz and I share our official DraftKings and FanDuel picks for cash and GPPs exclusively in the DFS Pass.

Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.

Slate Overview

There are a couple of different ways to approach this slate and formats DraftKings & FanDuel are using:

  • Saturday Only- 2 Game Slate
  • Sunday Only- 3 Game Slate
  • Saturday & Sunday
  • Single Games

This article is meant as an overview of the WildCard games focusing on the DraftKings salaries and positional reactions. Betz’s Vegas Report and the Pace of Play is meant as a deep dive into the mechanics of each matchup. Please fine-tune this to the slate of your preference.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On the DFS & Betting Podcast, we will be looking at Saturday only and Sunday only as our main focus. For Monday’s game, we will treat it as a Showdown game with a specific showdown discussion available only for DFS Pass Discord members.

I thought I’d continue what I did last week and give you a behind-the-scenes look at how I sort every single week for the skill positions (RB, WR, TE) and some of the metrics I use form our site as well as routes-based metrics from FantasyPoints’ Data Suite.

Saturday DraftKings Salaries

Quarterbacks

It’s going to be tough getting away from Lamar on this Saturday slate. He towers over everyone else in terms of fantasy points per dropback and we saw him put up 20.5 fantasy points against these Ravens at home in Week 16…. Herbert certainly can work if you think LAC continues to push the issue through the air. The Texans pass defense quietly allowed the 3rd most fantasy points per drop back utilizing 2-high looks and 24th in EPA per pass attempt over the final six weeks of the season…. Stroud has just one 20-point fantasy game on the season as he’s struggled this year avoiding pressure and hitting big plays down the field. The Chargers rank top-5 in both EPA per pass and explosive pass rate allowed on the season… Wilson nosedived over the final month of the season as the Steelers lost four straight games. The vibes are not great travelling on the road to Baltimore where he finished with a pedestrian 15.4 fantasy points in Week 16. At $5,300, the conversation is more about using him as GPP leverage off of Lamar lineups.
