NFL DFS Tournament Takes: Week 6 (Fantasy Football)

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (3) is introduced before the game against the Buffalo Bills at NRG Stadium.

Footclan, we’re heading into Week 6, and by now, the NFL season is in full swing! The patterns we’ve been tracking are starting to stabilize, but there are still plenty of unexpected twists that can shift a slate in an instant. As we dive deeper into the season, bye weeks and injuries are having a bigger impact on both real-life teams and our DFS lineups. This is where sharp strategies and well-researched plays can truly separate you from the field.

At this stage, we’ve gathered enough data to identify which teams and players are trending up or down, but there are always opportunities for savvy players to uncover under-the-radar gems. The ability to pivot when the field zigs and find value in evolving player roles or favorable matchups, is what will keep us one step ahead.

Now’s the time to focus on matchups, game scripts, and ownership trends to make sure we’re constructing lineups with both a solid floor and massive upside. Week 6 presents another chance to push our edge and hunt for that big payday. Let’s lock in and keep the momentum going — there’s plenty of success still up for grabs!

Tournament Takes

Each week I’ll discuss my favorite stacks to utilize in large-field tournaments, ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.

Slate-Specific Thoughts

Game of the Week – Lions @ Cowboys (DET -3, O/U 52.5)

Oh, baby, what a game we have here between these two offensive juggernauts! From a DFS perspective, there are numerous ways to approach this matchup — whether it’s stacking the quarterbacks with their elite receivers or capitalizing on favorable matchups in the running game and tight end positions. This game promises fireworks, with the Lions hungry for revenge after last year’s dramatic loss in Dallas.

Let’s kick it off with the Cowboys. I’ll preface by saying that neither Rico Dowdle at $5,900 nor Ezekiel Elliott at $4,400 are on my radar this week. With the Lions boasting one of the top run defenses in the league, the Cowboys’ pass-heavy offense is set up perfectly for Dak Prescott to shine. At $6,700, Prescott is one of my favorite quarterbacks on the slate, ranking second in the NFL in pass attempts, trailing only Geno Smith — who’s played an extra game. The Lions have consistently forced teams to beat them through the air, putting Dak in a prime position to exploit this matchup. He offers fantastic value for DFS lineups.
