For the purposes of this article, I’ll be highlighting plays that I believe have upside for large field GPPs at reduced roster percentages, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sprinkle in some cash plays into our GPP lineups as well. In fact, most of the best tournament lineups feature some combination of high rostered plays as well as lower rostered plays. For my full breakdown on DraftKings for Week 8 cash games, be sure to check out my DraftKings cash picks here.
When building your GPP lineups, be sure to reference our Roster Percentage Report as well as our DFS Rankings in order to identify plays who have a solid projection yet may be undervalued by the field. In order to compete in GPPs, we’ll want to utilize a combination of cash plays and GPP plays in order to build solid lineups without sacrificing too much in the way of projection. Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts $7,500 @ CIN
As of Friday afternoon, we’re projecting Hurts (5.9%), A.J. Brown (5.7%) and DeVonta Smith (2.1%) for virtually no roster percentage on this slate. That makes Eagles stacks very intriguing in a potential shootout against Burrow and the Bengals. On the year, Hurts is “only” averaging 20.4 DK points per game as he’s yet to really explode for a huge ceiling performance. Last week, we saw a glimpse of what that might look like when he got multiple rushing scores thanks to two “Tush Push” touchdowns, yet in that game, he only had to attempt 14 passes as Philly was blowing out the Giants. If this one stays close and goes back and forth, we could finally see a vintage Hurts ceiling game against a Cincy defense that’s allowed every QB they’ve faced not named Jacoby Brissett, Daniel Jones and Deshaun Watson to throw for 2+ scores. On top of the plus passing matchup, the Bengals have faced the NFL’s most QB rush attempts and allowed the most QB rushing yards. Mobile QBs like Lamar Jackson (12/55/0), Jayden Daniels (12/39/1), and Daniel Jones (11/56/0 have all put up great rushing numbers against this defense, and even Jacoby Brissett (7/32/0) had a nice rushing day back in Week 1. It could all come together this week for Jalen and the Birds.
