Building winning GPP lineups, by definition, is tough. There are, however, some key things to look for when filling out your roster. First and foremost is ceiling, we want the players with potential to score the most points. Next is leverage; we want the players that fall through the cracks. Finally, we have to build a lineup that tells a winning story through game script and stacking.

A final note before diving into the picks. Week 18 is wild. Motivation is tough to quantify, but Matthew Betz wrote a great article detailing possible Week 18 motivation that I used heavily when writing this article. It’s also even more important to consider the Cash Picks article put out by Julia Papworth, as there is so much variance and unpredictability in the regular season finale.
With that said, let’s dive into my favorite GPP plays for Week 18.
Quarterbacks
Caleb Williams vs. DET – $7,800
The matchup in Chicago is the best on the slate from a DFS perspective, boasting a 50.5 over/under and 4.0 Game Pace Score (GPS). The Bears are playing for the chance at an improved playoff seed, and while the Lions are only playing for pride, don’t expect Dan Campbell to lay down in this one. Jared Goff ($7,700) is also viable on the other side, but I prefer Williams at home, especially as he has a chance to become the first 4,000-yard passer in Bears’ history. It’s also helpful that the Lions rank 28th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs since Week 12.
