Monday – Week 15 Studs and Duds and Jason’s Demise

Mike didn’t make it onto the field today, so Andy and Jason are taking us through our marks and getting sophisticated.

Ready to Roll

This week, the guys are addressing player incentives to deduce if that could impact their fantasy strength. There aren’t many QB incentives, but Jameis and Josh Allen have a couple. Saquon and Derrick Henry have significant incentives, but both are close, so there might not be much motivation. Teammate Justice Hill needs to hit a reception total to get a bonus, so watch for that. With the WRs, Jauan Jennings is on the cusp of a big one, as are Courtland Sutton and Mike Evans.

News

Hollywood Brown could make his return next week, to the delight of Carson Wentz, who may have to fill in for Patrick Mahomes, who is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Geno Smith left his game on Sunday night with an injury, and Tim Boyle came into the game after Tommy DeVito sustained a concussion. Nick Chubb is out for the year with a broken foot, and Alvin Kamara is dealing with an injured groin.

Studs

Josh Allen continued to go crazy this week, and Jared Goff and Lamar Jackson were close behind. Jalen Hurts also had a solid game, and Baker Mayfield got back on track nicely. James Conner is the RB1 on the week, and managers were also delighted with the results of Jahmyr Gibbs and James Cook. Chase Brown delivered another great game, and Tyjae Spears had one of the most entertaining TDs we have seen in a while. Nice work, Rico Dowdle—the Cowboys should have been listening to Mike for the entire year.

The WRs are highlighted by the elder statesman, with Davante Adams and Mike Evans having an incredible week. Amon-Ra bounced back with close to 200 yards receiving, and Brian Thomas Jr. had two TDs from Mac Jones. Terry McLaurin could have scored even more TDs, and both Philly WRs were startable. CeeDee Lamb keeps getting it done with Cooper Rush. Jonnu Smith, Sam LaPorta, Trey McBride, and Brenton Strange had some of the best weeks for the TE position. The Muth got back into the end zone.

Duds

Brock Purdy was let down on Thursday, and Tua and Kyler were both expected to be successful but did not deliver. You cannot trust Kyler next week on the road against Carolina. Oh, Jameis Winston—he got benched, and Will Levis made Jameis look good with his performance. There were down weeks from some of the top RBs, with Henry and Saquon not performing. Jason is not concerned with Derrick Henry. Chuba Hubbard was disappointing, and Tyrone Tracy Jr. did not play well.

Cooper Kupp goosed you at WR, and Tyreek Hill returned with very little after a great game last week. D.K. Metcalf is in the middle of a disappearing act and now may not have Geno in next week’s matchup against Minnesota. Amari Cooper was another full goose, and Calvin Ridley could not overcome the Will Levis experience. Looking at the TEs, Travis Kelce falls in the duds category, and Cade Otton didn’t have a good game, even with Baker airing it out.

Enjoy the double shot of the Monday night games!

Tuesday – Week 16 Waivers and Playoff Pickups, Monty Fallout

Monday Night Recap

The two Monday night games did their part to prolong Mike’s sickness. Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones did enough for you, and Keenan Allen gave you something and was fine. Ultimately, it was okay for fantasy, but the actual game was boring. The Atlanta and Las Vegas game said hold my beer. Darnell Mooney goosed, with Kirk Cousins looking bad. Jason says Cousins looks like late-stage Peyton Manning, and if you own Brock Bowers, you should hope it will not be Desmond Ridder again. There was also an injury to Sincere McCormick.

Difference Makers

After discussing player and team incentives, Andy brings up pride incentives. Aaron Rodgers has been a top-10 QB in each of the last two weeks, and the guys could see him redeeming himself with a strong end to the season. Rodgers and Davante Adams are not playing for the playoffs at this stage of their career but are playing to show how good they have been. Jason’s difference maker is Jahmyr Gibbs, who now has the entire Detroit backfield with David Montgomery injured.

News

David Montgomery has a torn MCL and is out for the season, including the playoffs. Derek Carr’s return is still a few weeks away, and Alvin Kamara is undergoing more tests on his groin. The guys do not anticipate him playing and heavily suggest having a pivot ready. Joe Mixon is dealing with a hip drop tackle, and the team is playing for nothing, so he might end up resting. Patrick Mahomes might be out in Week 16.

Waiver Wire

Jerome Ford is at the top of the list, with Nick Chubb out—he is a safe RB2 for Jason. The next big name is Tyjae Spears. Tony Pollard also is battling an injury, and Spears has been playing well. Jason would go with Spears over Ford if Pollard goes to the IR. Kendre Miller must be looked at as well. Even if you don’t need one of these guys, look at your opponent’s roster and see if they need them. The guys think Ty Johnson might be a mirage, but do not forget about Kenneth Gainwell. Looking at the Vegas situation, if Sincere McCormick is out, the next man up might be Alexander Mattison

For the WRs, Jalen McMillan might be the headliner in a good matchup against Dallas. Beyond him, you can look at Quentin Johnston. Rashod Bateman is also a good target to consider and is always a big play threat. If Christian Watson is still out there, he is someone to add. You also need to consider Malik Washington with Jaylen Waddle injured. Cedric Tillman is an option if Jameis is back and Andy’s dart throw is Jalen Coker. There are few TEs to look for, and Brenton Strange might be the only guy. Stone Smartt is the next man up for the Chargers, but the matchup is rough. Defenses to look at include the Cardinals, the Packers, the Colts, and the Jags if you are desperate.

Full Stream Ahead

Andy is streaming Aaron Rodgers, and Jason is going with Matthew Stafford.

Wednesday – Start/Sit Courage and Hungry for More, TNF Preview

Hungry for More

Jason starts us off and is hungry for more from Tyjae Spears from the Tennessee Titans. Andy is hungry for more from Jalen McMillan and his explosiveness.

News

Joe Mixon is still battling an injury from last week, and it is unclear whether he will play. Andy is concerned. Kirk Cousins is getting benched, and it is Michael Penix Jr.’s time. The Browns are starting Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and the fantasy community will miss Jameis. The pass-catchers will suffer. The Titans are also making a switch, and Mason Rudolph will be under center. Aidan O’Connell is trending towards starting, and Patrick Mahomes was a full participant in practice.

Thursday Night Breakdown

To start semifinal week, Denver travels to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers in a very low over/under. The defenses are tied in points per game allowed but take note of Patrick Surtain, who is recovering from his injury. Jason thinks this will be a low-scoring slugfest. McConkey has been the guy, and you can start him this week, but QJ should be benched. On the other side, it is Courtland Sutton, and log out.

The guys open up the mailbag and call it a day.

Thursday – Starts of the Week and Week 16 Breakdown, Playoff Pressure

News

Hayden Hurst returns tonight for the Chargers, so Stone Smartt is no longer a thing. Sincere McCormick heads to IR, and the Raiders might be getting Aidan O’Connell back this week. Isaac Guerendo did not practice, and fantasy managers must be ready to pivot. Jaylen Waddle also did not practice, and Geno Smith returned to a full practice. Keep an eye on Zach Charbonnet, who did not log a practice.

Starts of the Week

Andy is starting Jordan Love, Jerome Ford, JSN, and Sam LaPorta this week. Jason is going with Jayden Daniels, Breece Hall, Malik Nabers, and Travis Kelce.

Fantasy Forecast

Houston and Kansas City start us off. The matchup is important, but neither team has given us much excitement this season. It is simple for Houston: Joe Mixon, and Nico Collins and log out. Andy is trying to pivot from Isiah Pacheco in a tough matchup, and there aren’t any WRs for the Chiefs that you feel highly confident in. Xavier Worthy is an emergency flex. The other Saturday game is Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and this might be a lower-scoring game with some weather. Without George Pickens, Jason is nervous about the Ravens’ weapons not named Derrick Henry. If there is no Pickens, the Muth could get Luth.

The Giants and Falcons play on Sunday, and it is the dawn of the Penix era. You are starting Bijan, and Drake London is still startable, but the rest of the Atlanta weapons are scary to start. Malik Nabers should be in your lineup, and Andy is trying not to start Tyrone Tracy with Drew Lock under center. Detroit heads to Chicago to play the Bears, and the Lions’ defense has lost many players in addition to David Montgomery, so their identity might shift slightly. Jahmyr Gibbs is an insane start against a horrible run defense, and Tim Patrick could even be used in a pinch. On the other side, you could start D.J. Moore and start Caleb Williams in a SuperFlex league.

The Browns and Bengals play in the battle of Ohio, and DTR is coming in for Cleveland. Start your Cincinnati studs, but they might not have to do so much without Jameis on the other side. You are still starting Jerry Jeudy, but temper expectations. The Rams and the Jets battle next. Jason forgives Cooper Kupp, and you are starting all the other big WRs. Kyren is in your lineup, and Breece Hall is Jason’s start of the week. Philadelphia and Washington dance in an NFC East battle, and Andy thinks this could be a Saquon game. Jason is worried about the injury. Jayden Daniels and McLaurin are in your lineup, and you probably will not have Zach Ertz.

Enjoy the Thursday night game!

Friday – Week 16 Matchups and Mike’s Back, Wheel of Shame!

Thursday Night Recap

The Broncos started hot, but the Chargers came on late to win the game. Justin Herbert‘s talent was on display, and Ladd had a good game. Gus Edwards was an incredible play if you happened to start him. Courtland Sutton was average, and Quentin Johnston did nothing except drop a pass. Shocking.

News

Patrick Mahomes is off the injury report and will play and Joe Mixon will also make it on the field. George Pickens is ruled out, and Rashod Bateman is questionable. Cedric Tillman is still limited, and you are not playing him without Jameis. Both backup Jets RBs are beat up, and Zach Ertz has returned to limited practice. Isaac Guerendo will not play for the Niners, and Andy is not fighting for the 16th-string RB.

Fantasy Forecast

Tennessee and Indy battle in the first matchup, and Mason Rudolph will be taking over for Will Levis. Andy is putting his money on Chig this week. Even after the burn, you are starting Jonathan Taylor, but try to find better options than the Colts’ WRs. The Cardinals head east to play the Panthers in the next game. The Carolina run defense is horrendous, and James Conner should eat. It is scary to start Kyler, even in what should be a good game for Arizona, and the biggest question is Marvin Harrison. You can go back to Chuba after a down week, and Adam Thielen can be in your lineup, according to Andy.

Minnesota plays Seattle, and the Vikings’ run defense has been great. Starting Kenneth Walker may be nerve-wracking. JSN is Andy’s start of the week, and be cautious with D.K. Metcalf. On the other side, you are starting your Minnesota studs, and you can rely on Hockenson. The only question might be Sam Darnold. The Patriots head to Buffalo to play the Bills, and you start Josh Allen and James Cook, but past that, it gets fuzzy. Khalil Shakir is the safest option. On the New England side, Rhamondre will not be great, but he can be in your lineup. Hunter Henry is not your path to a championship.

Jacksonville and Las Vegas play in a very low over/under. Aidan O’Connell should be back, which is excellent for Brock Bowers, who is close to breaking records. Brian Thomas Jr. has been great with Mac Jones, but try to avoid the Jaguars’ RBs. Brenton Strange has a great matchup, and Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah are break glass in case of emergency guys. San Francisco heads east to play the Miami Dolphins. Jason thinks all the RB work should go to Patrick Taylor, and he is okay with that start. You are playing Achane, and Tyreek Hill should bounce back with the Jaylen Waddle injury. Jauan Jennings and Kittle are in your lineup.

Sunday night brings the Bucs and the Cowboys, and this could be a good game. Andy likes Jalen McMillan in your flex, and if Bucky is active, you have to start him. Rico Dowdle has come into his own, and Mike is ecstatic. CeeDee Lamb is getting it done, and you can look elsewhere regarding the TEs. The week ends with New Orleans and Green Bay, and the Packers are 14-point favorites. Kendre Miller must be considered, but if you have to start him, temper expectations. Jordan Love is Andy’s start of the week, and Jacobs has been amazing, but it is uncertain which WR will be the best.

The guys reveal their DraftKings lineup and Mike spins the win of shame. Good luck this week FootClan!
