Welcome to Week 15, FootClan, and congratulations to those of you who made it to the fantasy playoffs!
Unfortunately, for the first time all season, we whiffed on a QB1 performance due to huge letdowns from Will Levis and Caleb Williams. Hopefully, luck was on your side, however, as we aim to rebound with three QBs (ranked outside the Ballers’ top 12) who hold QB1 upside in Week 15.
Player Highlighted | Week 14 Ranking | Week 15 Finish |
Will Levis | 15 | 26 |
Caleb Williams | 16 | 18 |
Cooper Rush | 21 | 15 |
With no new names to add, we’re sitting pretty with 39 QB1 performances through Week 14 of the 2024 season. With just four weeks to go, do you think we will go over or under the 46 QB1 performances in 2023?
Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, Anthony Richardson, Lamar Jackson, Derek Carr, Geno Smith, CJ Stroud, Tua Tagovailoa, Jordan Love, Matthew Stafford, Kyler Murray, Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins, Joe Burrow, Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, Malik Willis, Andy Dalton, Justin Fields, Jared Goff, Joe Flacco, Caleb Williams, Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence, Drake Maye, Russell Wilson, Marcus Mariota, Justin Herbert, Jameis Winston, Patrick Mahomes, Will Levis, Cooper Rush, Bryce Young, Mac Jones
Be sure to check the Week 15 QB rankings before kickoff, and as a reminder, the Ultimate DFS Pass is now 50% off, which is something we can all be thankful for! Now, let’s get down to business.
14. Jameis Winston
I can’t get enough Jameis.

Since taking over this team in Week 8, Jameis Winston has been the QB5 in PPG. While I’m sure most of the community sees this as a Joe Flacco-esque fluke, we can’t deny his recent success, and it’s especially worth noting that almost all of this has come after the team traded away stud WR Amari Cooper.
The Browns have nothing to play for, but Jameis has been confirmed as the starter moving forward after posting (at least) 334 yards passing in three of six games, and (at least) two passing touchdowns in four of six. He is elevating all of the young skill players around him, and most importantly, he is making football (and life) fun for the city of Cleveland, and for us.

In the first half of the season, we would have said avoid this matchup entirely. However, over the past five games, the Chiefs’ defense has been uncharacteristically struggling, ranking 23rd in explosive pass play rate, 24th in yards allowed per coverage snap, and 25th in EPA allowed per play. Of course, it’s important to note that in that time span, they faced Josh Allen and Justin Herbert, however, they also faced Bo Nix, Bryce Young, and Aidan O’Connell, who all found reasonable success and almost took down the almighty Chiefs.
Admittedly, volume has been a major point of Jameis’ fantasy resurgence, but that should be no different this week. He’s averaging 43.2 pass attempts/game in his six games as a starter, and as 4.5-point underdogs against Patrick Mahomes, we can safely expect him to reach that number again.
An extremely important piece to this puzzle will be the status of WR Cedric Tillman (concussion) and TE David Njoku (hamstring), who are both currently listed as questionable. If one or both of Njoku and Tillman are out, I would be far more hesitant to play Jameis this week against a Steve Spagnuolo defense, and would personally move him below the next two names, and would replace this entire take with Geno Smith or Drake Maye. The Browns currently have a modest team-implied total of 19.5, but even that number may be a long shot if they are missing their top two wide receivers.

17. Jordan Love
The weather outside is frightful.
But the play of #Packers QB Jordan Love is so …

The fantasy community has clearly soured on Jordan Love.
Perhaps our expectations were too high coming off a QB5 breakout in ’23. Perhaps we just live in a reactionary world that is just too impatient to understand that sports—like life—have their ups and downs. Perhaps we base our opinions too much on fantasy numbers, as opposed to what actually happens on the field. Or perhaps sometimes there are just some things out of his control:

For the record, the box score shows that play as 0/1 for zero yards.
At 9-4, the Packers are somehow third in the NFC North and clinging to wild card hopes. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, the Seahawks sit atop the NFC West at 8-5. With the 49ers essentially knocked out of the playoff hunt, this holiday season in the NFC is going to be nothing short of fantastic.
Seattle’s secondary has been on fire the past month, allowing the fourth fewest yards per attempt and sixth fewest PPG (15.2), but the Packers are finally looking fully healthy with both WR Romeo Doubs and TE Luke Musgrave practicing in full, while Seattle CB Tre Brown—who missed Week 14 with a hamstring injury—has still been unable to practice so far this week.
Contrary to popular belief, this Packers offense has been humming, averaging 26.8 PPG (seventh) on the season. No, it hasn’t been the way we’re used to seeing, but there is a clear and obvious correlation between Josh Jacobs‘ recent dominance and Love’s (and his pass-catchers) diminishing stat lines.
After scoring just two touchdowns in the first seven games, Jacobs has scored 10 touchdowns over the past six. If we compare and contrast that to Love’s performances, you’ll notice that Love threw for 15 touchdowns in his first five games (he missed two due to injury), but has only scored seven touchdowns over the past six weeks.
This leaves us with a pretty simple math equation: Every touchdown Love or Jacobs scores = one less touchdown for the other.
Get it? Got it? Good.
Josh Jacobs has been on a HEATER.
Over the last 6 weeks, Jacobs has:

24 Receiving Yards/Game
10 Touchdowns pic.twitter.com/MFSRQ8toR9

The underlying metrics are unique this week. In an extremely rare example, PFF’s OL/DL model has Green Bay as the second-best matchup in terms of pass blocking, but the 31st ranked matchup in terms of run blocking. Matt LaFleur has proven his ability to manage games and put his team in the best position to win, and if the analytics are telling us anything, it’s that the Packers may benefit from #LettingLoveCook this week.
Although devoid of elite performances lately, Love is still the QB10 in PPG this season. These are the ebbs and flows in football, but eventually, things regress to the mean, and I wouldn’t be afraid to start Love as my QB2 this week. The Packers are 2.5-point road favorites and rank ninth with a team-implied total of 24.5. With an O/U of 47, this game has all the potential to be a shootout for two teams that desperately need a win.
Jordan Love has been on fire these last few weeks.

21. Aaron Rodgers
The Jets have been one of—if not the—most disappointing teams in the league this year.
This Aaron Rodgers saga has felt like it has lasted an eternity, and now, in the week leading up to Rodgers’ version of “Tom Vs. Time,“ the Jets have officially knocked themselves out of playoff contention. A team with Super Bowl aspirations at the beginning of the year is now tied with my lowly Patriots at the bottom of the AFC East. How embarrassing.

This choice is less of an endorsement for Rodgers and more of an attack on the Jaguars, who rank bottom-five in completions, passing yards allowed, passing touchdowns allowed, and most importantly, PPG to opposing fantasy QBs. Both Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams should be firmly in your lineup in what should be a dream matchup.
Breece Hall is unlikely to play again this week (potentially this year), and while backups Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis have shown sparks, Rodgers is playing for his job, career, and reputation. Despite the Jets having nothing on the line, there is still plenty for Rodgers, who should be extra motivated to show his team he’s still got it. As someone who has multiple Garrett Wilson playoff shares, I am praying it looks nothing like this:

We’re still wasting Garrett Wilson man….

For the record, writing this is sad for me.
I am (one share) owner of the Packers. I have admired Rodgers his entire career. He even won me my first-ever fantasy championship (team name: Rodgers Klotz, for all you Doug fans out there). Some of you may not have seen the Rodgers-of-old, but until recently, he was regarded as one of the most athletic and exciting players to ever play the game.
In Brady-like fashion, this team went all in, and they gave him everything in the process. They paid him handsomely. They let him take vacations during minicamp. They brought in literally all of his friends. They fired their head coach. They fired their GM. Unfortunately for the team and its fans, it simply didn’t work out, and there will be a lot of change around this team next season.
Despite their overtime loss last week in Miami, Rodgers still put up 339 yards and a touchdown against a stout Dolphins secondary (third in PPG to QBs). The Jets are 3.5-point favorites over Jacksonville, and rank 18th with a team-implied total of 22. Perhaps one more ayahuasca ceremony is in store for Rodgers this week, who should be doing everything in his power to give the states of New York and New Jersey something to smile about this holiday season.
