Hungry for More: The Fantasy Footballers’ Predictions for Week 11

Nov 10, 2024; Inglewood, California, USA; Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston (1) celebrates in the end zone after a touchdown in the second half against the Tennessee Titans at SoFi Stadium.

The closer the season gets to the playoffs, the more important it is for fantasy managers to be able to find as much value as they can on their rosters! There are only four regular season games left before the fantasy playoffs start and there are still plenty of rosters that could use a little spice before we hit the most important stretch of the season! Right on cue, the Ballers are back in the kitchen to cook up a trio of players they want more out of ahead of Week 11 in this week’s Hungry for More presented by Uber Eats.

Each week throughout the season, Andy, Mike, and Jason are doing their best Emeril impersonation to find a player they’re wanting to kick it up a notch heading into another crucial week for fantasy!

QB – Kyler Murray (ARI)

Week 10
Passing Attempts Passing Yards TDs
22/24 266 1

The hot and cold nature of Kyler Murray so far this season has Andy asking for more consistency from the Cardinals’ QB. In his 10 games played this season, Murray has five top-10 QB finishes but also has five finishes of QB15 or worse, including QB25 and QB30 finishes. The range of outcomes has been almost directly tied to whether or not the Cardinals win or lose their games. In weeks when Arizona wins, Murray is averaging 21.1 fantasy points, but in their losses, he’s averaging just 12.75. The struggle for fantasy managers will be picking the weeks where Murray is going to be effective for fantasy without completely ruining your roster with a bad week.

Luckily, Murray has a schedule down the stretch of the season that should line up for him to begin to show some consistency for fantasy managers. Arizona is off this week, but in their last seven games, the Cardinals play five teams that are ranked in the bottom half of the league in positive points against expectation against the QB position. If Murray continues to have his full arsenal of weapons at his disposal, there’s hope that he could lead teams to a deep playoff run for fantasy.

Upcoming Schedule: bye, at Seattle, at Minnesota, vs. Seattle

TE – TJ Hockenson (MIN)

Week 10
Receptions Receiving Yards TDs
8 72 0

The return of TJ Hockenson to the Vikings’ lineup saw its pinnacle last week as the TE led Minnesota in receiving last week, and Jason still wants another helping to put in his fantasy lineup. Hockenson missed the first games of the season recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered during the 2023 season but has been fully worked back into the Minnesota passing offense. The Vikings have been searching for a consistent second receiving option behind Justin Jefferson and Hockenson should provide just that. In Week 10, Hockenson saw a target on 32% of his routes despite playing just 46% of snaps on the day. That type of target share falls just behind Travis Kelce in first-read targets among TEs in Week 10.

If Hockenson can stay involved in one of the more efficient passing offenses in the league, he has a decent schedule to be a difference-maker for fantasy managers down the stretch of the season. For the remaining seven games in the fantasy season, four of his remaining matchups feature teams that are allowing at least 1.5 points above expectation to opposing TEs. The worst matchup that Hockenson has in the fantasy season comes this week though against the Titans who have only allowed more than 10 fantasy points to opposing teams’ TEs twice this season.

Upcoming Schedule: at Tennessee, at Chicago, vs. Arizona, vs. Atlanta

WR – Quentin Johnston (LAC)

Week 10
Receptions Receiving Yards TDs
2 24 1

After a dismal rookie season, the changes made in Los Angeles have given new life to Quentin Johnston and Mike needs another slice of the Quge on his plate. Since returning in Week 9 from an ankle injury that made him miss a pair of weeks, Johnston has caught a TD in each game and even logged his first career 100+ yard receiving game. While some fantasy managers may still prefer Ladd McConkey, Johnston’s fantasy production is right in line with the rookie’s when it comes to points per game. The Chargers have also increased their passing volume since their bye in Week 5, with Justin Herbert averaging 117 more passing yards per game which can only increase Johnston’s value down the stretch of the year.

When it comes to WR schedules for the rest of the year, it’s tough to find one that’s better than L.A.’s. In four of their next five games, the Chargers will face defenses that are allowing at least two points above expectation to opposing WRs. The juiciest of those matchups comes next week against the Ravens who are allowing a whopping 11 points above expectation to WRs. With the higher passing volume and struggling running game in L.A., Johnston could be a huge value boost to fantasy managers trying to make a push for the playoffs.

Upcoming Schedule: vs. Cincinnati, vs. Baltimore, at Atlanta, at Kansas City
