Now, let’s break down The Fantasy Footballers’ Starts of the Week for Week 6.
Andy’s Starts of the Week
QB – Kirk Cousins @ CAR
After the big games, Andy wants to stay in the flames with Captain Kirk. Everyone is having massive games against Carolina, and with Drake London and Darnell Mooney being weapons for Kirk, this should be another big week. The offense has clearly shifted to being Kirk-centric, and if the Panthers keep the game competitive, Kirk could explode for you.
RB – Breece Hall vs. BUF
It has been an interesting week for Breece Hall. He has struggled the last two weeks, and now the offense has a new play-caller, and the Jets have a new head coach. All that happens as he prepares to face a Buffalo defense that has been giving up big games to RBs all season. If you thought of trying to trade for Breece Hall, this could be a point to do so because if this week isn’t the one where he goes off for a big game, it might not happen this year.
WR – Amari Cooper @ PHI
The quarterback situation is a problem in Cleveland. However, Cooper is currently fourth in the NFL in targets, and while only 45% of them seem to be catchable, he is still getting the opportunities. Meanwhile, Philly has struggled on the defense’s back end and ranks 31st against WRs. This game could go in several different ways, but all involve Cooper having the ball thrown to him plenty to support fantasy success.
TE – Cole Kmet vs. JAX
Kmet is amazingly the TE6 of the year, mainly because of his 20-point week; however, having the ability to put up a 20-point week is not a lousy ceiling in the current TE market. Chicago faces a Jacksonville defense coming off three straight games of giving up tons of points to the TE position. Kmet is on the field 85-90% of the time and could make a big play at any point. If he scores, you could have a very big week from him this week.
Mike’s Starts of the Week
QB – Caleb Williams vs. JAX
Jacksonville is bleeding points to the quarterback position. Williams also just came off a game where it looked like the offense maybe figured some things out on how they want to function. Williams has been hot and cold, but as a rookie, that is somewhat expected. The Jags are giving up 7.9 points above expectation to quarterbacks, which is the worst in the NFL by over two points. Roll Caleb Williams back out this week; he should give you another boom game.
RB – Tony Pollard @ IND
Playing the Colts has been good for every running back this season except D’Andre Swift. Pollard is seeing a massive share in usage, at 69% of the RB attempts, and has already produced three top 24 weeks. Pollard also has a 15% target share, meaning he seems incredibly safe, and against the Colts’ terrible run defense, there could be some real upside.
WR – Jalen Tolbert vs. DET
Andy had Tolbert as a Hungry for More choice this week, and now Mike has him as a Start of the Week. The Detroit versus Dallas matchup should be a high-scoring affair, and Dallas will have to throw the ball to keep up with the Lions. In the last two weeks, Tolbert has had a 20% target share, and last week, he was the clear number two option in the offense with Brandin Cooks out. It should be a big week; you will want Tolbert in your lineup.
TE – Trey McBride @ GB
The big game hasn’t happened yet, but McBride has been solid for your roster. Green Bay is slightly worse against TEs than they are WRs, and the TEs for the Titans, Vikings, and Rams were all multiple points over expectation against the Packers. Last week, McBride came right off the concussion and had nine targets. That is fantastic, as it shows that despite missing the week prior, Kyler still trusts T-McB. McBride has a 26% target share for the year, so the big game is coming, and this could be the week!
