Building winning GPP lineups, by definition, is tough. There are, however, some key things to look for when filling out your roster. First and foremost is ceiling, we want the players with the potential to score the most points. Next is leverage, we want the players that fall through the cracks. Finally, we have to build a lineup that tells a winning story through game script and stacking.

A final note before diving into the picks. Don’t ignore the Cash Picks article put out by Matt Savoca. His article pairs perfectly with my GPP picks article, as it’s typically a good idea to mix in some value plays, especially if they fit the GPP-winning story you write.
Quarterbacks
Jayden Daniels and Jalen Hurts make sense if you stack them in GPPs but they were both featured in Matt Savoca’s Cash Picks article this week. I’ll let you go there to read about them while I offer some deeper options.
Patrick Mahomes @ SF – $8,000
The entire fantasy world seems to have turned their backs on Mahomes. It makes sense, as the two-time MVP is not posting elite stats. He hasn’t finished a week as a top-12 quarterback since Week 12 of 2023. While I wouldn’t argue benching him in redraft leagues, I’m going to take some shots in GPPs. It’s been a while, but we know that Mahomes can go nuclear on any given Sunday. He’s currently throwing touchdowns at a 3.8% rate, the lowest of his career. The 49ers aren’t as intimidating as you might think, ranking 22nd in schedule-adjusted points allowed to quarterbacks, and there’s a chance that Andy Reid unleashes him coming off the bye week.
